Weekends are for Fun

Broke the tractor... Again. Boo in the Bay Halloween parade was a blast. Things may be put on hold because of looming lay offs coming to my job.

Another late post. I know, I know. I’m slacking on my responsibilities. It's for good reason, though. Bay St Louis throws a killer Halloween golf cart parade. Boo in the Bay is a serious endeavor. This was our first time experiencing the parade and had no idea what to expect. It was a solid two hours of golf carts, side by sides, and Jeeps, all throwing candy and toys for the kids. Theo tired out about halfway through and still got a full catch bag full of candy and toys. The other two have nearly two full bags. The carts were also decorated with some amazing themes. You can tell everyone put a lot of effort into the parade and we will definitely go back next year.

The tire has already been fixed and the busted fan and radiator have been removed and new replacements are ordered. House plans are almost complete but we may need to put getting the slab poured on hold. Received bad news at work that the company is doing layoffs across the board and I will not find out if I’m on the chopping block for another few weeks. We are having to put any big financial decisions on hold until the dust settles and until we know the outcome of the layoffs. I guess its time to start looking into ways to make additional income that doesn’t require a group of people who can decide on my family's fate and financial future. Un-need stress is not something I enjoy, especially coming up on the holiday season.

Be sure to watch our first video and like and subscribe for future content. The video is a bit of a mishmash while we are still working out the logistics of what to film and how we want to tell our story. Hope you enjoy.

As for progress on the land. I started off strong but it quickly went sideways. I was clearing the area where we decided to put the house and was pushing over some of the thicket and small trees. I was in a spot that I was not to comfortable with the tractor and decided to back up. That’s when everything started to go sideways. As I was backing up, a branch from a tree went in the opening between the motor and radiator and broke off all the blades on the fan and put a hole in the radiator. That’s not where it ends. As I continued to back up to get out of the mess, a log became wedged in the back wheel and broke the valve stem of which caused the tire bead to pop off. What a fun predicament to be in. I spent the rest of the afternoon cutting grass around the fences so the whole afternoon would not be a complete wash.
