Things are starting to move

We have offers on our house so now we can start to shift our focus and the next steps.

Things are definitely moving now. We had an unexpected but a welcomed bit of chaos after listing our house on the market. We had a lot of interest with multiple showings and offers within the first 24 hours. We accepted an offer and now we wait. This is the part I really don’t like. Waiting. The potential buyers now need to have an inspector come and look at our house and hopefully, all goes well and they like what they see. We priced it under market value because there are some issues that will need to be addressed but I am optimistic that the buyers are willing to take on a few projects.

This bit of excitement puts a new spark on our plans to build our dream homestead as we have been stalled out for so long trying to juggle the stress of life after the pandemic and then my work taking me out of state for a year. Trying to get the momentum back on track has been difficult but we are finally seeing some movement in the right direction. We just hope the sale of the house goes smoothly and we can keep going in the right direction, so we don’t lose our focus on the good things we have planned.

Now if could just get the kids on board with all these changes. When we started the journey of getting our house ready to sell, we bought a camper to help with the transition. The kids were excited about it in the beginning as it was like a new toy to them. As we are now fully living in the camper, well let's just say the excitement has gone away. Having to downsize from a 1900 square foot three-bedroom house to a 300 square foot bunkhouse camper is having its challenges, to say the least. It will only get tougher before it gets better because right now, we are in our house driveway where we still have access to water and toilets that are not hooked to the campers' limited-sized tanks. Once we are fully on the land and before we get our utilities taken care of, we will be on a generator for power, and we will need to truck in our water and truck out our waste.

To help alleviate the water problem I have bought a large water tank that I plan on building a pump manifold that we can have hooked up to the camper just like you would a regular water supply. This will hopefully help until we get a well dug and have a more permanent source of water. And of course, I will be the most excited about a septic tank that we can hook to until we get our first building up with a bathroom. Gotta take a step back sometimes to move forward.

Chaos is inherent in all compounded things. Strive on with diligence.
