Some progress is better than no progress

Still waiting on the results of the appraisal and we are finishing up the last little bits of clearing the house.

We made some progress in our future life on the land for when we can no longer be parked at our house. When we move permanently to the land, we will initially not have any utilities and will need to truck in our water, truck out the waste, and rely on a generator for power. This is no small feat with five people and our menagerie of pets. This week we fit a pump and valves to a large 275-gallon water tank that will allow us to have a large quantity of water that we can hook to the camper which will ease our need from having to constantly keep the small water tank on the camper filled with water to an operation of filling the tank once a week or even less. There are still some tweaks to the plumbing that need to happen but overall, it is just about ready to be put to work. We have placed it at the land near where the camper will sit, and we have already started bringing water and have it half full already.

We also had the appraiser come to the house; this is one of the last hurdles we need to get through for the sale of our house to get us to closing. With closing getting closer we are kicking into full overdrive trying to get the remaining things out of the house and shed. The daunting task of emptying the attic is the one big remaining tasks. We kept forgetting about it. What can I say, out of sight out of mind. Life goes on. We did get the shed emptied of all the lagniappe we have been avoiding. I have decided that moving sucks and I am now dreading once we get the new house built, having to empty our storage and going through everything again in the opposite direction. May need to invest in a large amount of alcohol to help us get through the unpacking.

I also have a potential trade for my 32 Ford. We were looking to sell the car and use the money for additional projects around the property, but I just can’t pass up the deal that was offered. I will reveal the deal if it all goes through. It will be an exciting addition to the collection that currently doesn’t exist.
