A hurricane, Selling the house, and an ER visit

We close on the house just as a hurricane bears down on us and one of the kids gets to see the inside of an ER after a mishap that is going to cause us to pump the breaks for a bit.

It’s official, we closed on the house and now we can move forward with our plans on the house on the land. Selling the house has been a wild ride. When we listed the house, we had an offer on it the very next day. From the offer to closing was 30 days. Of course, there were some bumps along the way but we overcame them and the buyers were delighted at closing to be in their new home. Now we are starting the process of getting plans and permits and we are ready to put the deposit down on our building. We had to wait a few days for the money to be released to us, and I hate waiting.

As we were celebrating our progress, Mother Nature threw a wrench in the plan by way of a hurricane named Francine. From getting things moving for the land we now had to quickly shift gears and get the land, camper, and house we are staying in ready for a storm. Did I mention before we are staying right next to the beach right off the Gulf of Mexico? Exciting stuff, really. Nerve racking actually. A lot of furniture had to be secured and the kids outdoor toys and bikes had to find a new temporary home. With all the cleaning, we also needed to make provisions as we had still not completely settled into the house. So off to the store I went and as part of the storm provisions I bought a bunch of Lego sets to help the kids keep their minds off the storm. It was a huge success, and there were only minor complaints about the winds.

Got the kids a go-cart to help keep them occupied while we were working on things at the land. Well that didn’t work out so well. Bought the cart Thursday and had to rush Theo to the ER Saturday after he flipped it and broke his arm. He was wearing a helmet and seatbelt thankfully but still trying to figure out what actually happened and how he broke his arm. So now it looks like a few days of us taking it easy. We just got back home from the hospital as I am writing this, so I will end it here for this week. Sorry guys but I am just wiped from this week's excitement.

We are also scheduled to get internet at the house finally. We have been trying our best to get things moving and stay connected but that has been hard with reliable internet. We are currently using WIFI from our neighbor but the signal isn’t the best and we are doing the best we can with what we can get. Hopefully the internet installation goes smoothly and there are no hiccups.
